Oneal Banerjee is the Firm’s Managing Lawyer and heads up its tort litigation team. He is a civil litigator who specializes in serious injury litigation. Oneal began his career as an insurance defence litigator and continues to have excellent working relationships with many insurance adjusters and defence lawyers, with whom he negotiates vigorously for just resolution of his clients’ personal injury claims.
Oneal obtained his B.Soc.Sc. in Political Science (Honours) from the University of Ottawa in 1996 and his Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Ottawa in 2002.
For the last several years, Oneal has limited his practice to representing accident victims in their claims against insurance companies in motor vehicle, long term disability, occupiers’ liability (slip and fall), and other bodily injury litigation, including catastrophic accident benefits claims.
Oneal’s prior experience includes working in the insurance litigation group of Canada’s largest full service firm and at one of Canada’s most prominent insurance defence boutiques, all together for over a decade.
Oneal has appeared as lead counsel at the Superior Court of Ontario, Divisional Court, Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and before private arbitrators, for trial, arbitration, and appeal work.
Oneal is also fluent in both French and Bengali.
